Michael who?

Michael Savage, lunatic fringe talk radio host, now with an MSNBC show, is floating an idea. It is this, directly from his website The Paul Revere Society. I've little doubt that if Revere were here today, he'd most certainly not approve of his good name being used in such an inane, mis-guided affair. Here are the goods:

So, Michael Savage, FKA Michael Weiner, is espousing the idea that people exercising their constitutional rights, be tried for Sedition. There are two comical counterpoints to Savage's rant. The first is, war needs to be declared in order for the Sedition Act to be activated, and the second is that these "events" are often global in nature, so these events can be non-locally planned and prepared. The same internet that rouses citizens to dissent, is unfortunately the same one that gives the Weiner the opportunity to have his little website.

3. Is a World Famous Nutrition Expert.     Then why does he look well, portly?*

4. Is a World Famous Herbal Expert.     Now this I can understand. He's on some serious herb, that's for certain.*

1. Make tax cuts permanent.     It's a good thing this guy's not an economist, he'd have to tell a fib here. On the other hand, he's a ranting lunatic that lies serially.*

2. Close the borders now.   :  Sure, now that your family's already inside. Deportation, anyone?*

3. Deport all illegal immigrants now.      Tell you what, you find 'em, let the INS do its job.*

4. Eliminate bilingual education in all states.      Agreed, we'll start by eliminating hate speech. Sorry, Mr. Weiner.*

5. Require health tests for all recent foreign born immigrants.     You pony up the money, the US Government sure could use some extra cash. To pay off Turkey, etc.*

6. Eliminate as many entitlement programs as possible.     Great idea! Corporate welfare, and subsidized fossil fuels are the first to go!!*

7. Reduce the number of Federal Employees.     What do you recommend, hanging, lethal injection or firing squad?*

8. Oil Drilling on U.S. Soil.     Don't you mean "Oil Drilling through U.S. Soil?" It's my experience that sand is lousy petroleum substitute.*

9. Tort Reform "STOP LAWYERS".     Okay, quid pro quo. We'll get rid of as many lawyers as we do talk radio hosts. After all, lawyers have, on ocassion helped people. Talk radio folks, nada.*

Okay, now some commentary on the last few lines.

Translation: Bush has the economy in the toilet, is threatening our very democracy, has us on the brink of war, but closing the borders, making English compulsory, and protecting "American Culture", which is nothing if not a plurality, is where we should expend time and resources. Who knew?

Translation: Okay, this time I mean it, no spics, slants, arabiacs, native Americans or anyone else who can't speak English wanted.[Personal rant] I must take issue with the Bible. This book is a two thousand year old storybook that is not one of the pillars of America. One need only look at the writings of Jefferson and Madison to see that this is so. The Bible does little to inspire, it creates divisions, and incites war. Like smallpox, Christianity is a plague upon mankind, but much harder to eradicate.
